Chasuble, provenance unknown. Embroidered chasuble with birds, flowers, and fruit ornament; liturgical vestment used as a church parament. On a silver background, a multicolored pattern composed of a fruit vase, floral scrolls, grapes, and birds. Predominant colors: silver background and green, blue, and yellow ornament. Edges trimmed with gold braid with a geometric pattern. Internal divisions marked with strips embroidered with gold thread, imitating haberdashery. Cotton lining. Embroidery on linen canvas with multicolored silk and metal threads in two types: silver silver plate woven on a white silk base and gold gold plate woven on a yellow silk base. Metal thread embroidery in a laid flat stitch; colored embroidery in split, flat, and knot stitches. 18th century, Poland. Length 105 cm, width 64 cm back., An ornate textile panel with a pointed top and rounded bottom displayed against a light background, featuring an overall palette of gold, pale yellow, soft green, muted blue, cream, and touches of pink and red; the surface is richly embroidered with a symmetrical floral and foliate design including a variety of stylized blossoms, leaves, curling tendrils, and fruit motifs, framed by vertical bands and edged with a narrow decorative border in gold tones; a thin pair of twisted cords in gold extends from one side; the embroidery shows textured raised stitching and areas of metallic sheen.
