Rose flowers between the leaves, and sprigs of other small flowers above them. Background fond de gaze. 2nd half of the 19th century, Brussels, lace, width 8.5 cm, length 127 cm, A length of delicate lace with an intricate floral and scroll pattern placed against a solid background; the lace shows a scalloped lower edge with large stylized flower motifs and fan-like tassel shapes, a middle section of open netting filled with embroidered blossoms and leaf sprigs, and an upper border of a tighter woven band; visible colors include off-white or cream for the lace and a gray background.
