Half-belt. Double-sided silk half-belt. Each head features a single motif of a flower bouquet in a vase. Center with a carp scale motif. Vertical borders divided into small quarters, each with leaf motifs; the lower horizontal borders upper ones missing contain single rosettes. Borders in the form of straight lines. Background colors: yellow and brown; ornament colors: blue, purple, yellow, green, silver. Fringe sewn on; materials: silk, straw. Weave density approx. 18/25 x2. Date: 1890–1910. Function: clothing accessory, national costume; length 345 cm; width 12 cm. Polish kontusz/double-sided belt style; men's clothing accessory. Plant ornaments, rosette, carp scale ornament., Two long vertical woven bands hang side by side against a pale background, each ending in a fringe of golden yellow threads. The left band features a golden yellow field with an allover scalloped pattern in a darker tone and a narrow border of small floral motifs in pink, blue, and maroon; near its lower section an ornate floral bouquet in purple, pink, blue, and green rises from a decorative vase in muted beige and brown. The right band has a magenta field with a scalloped pattern outlined in gold and a similar floral-bordered edge in pink, blue, and maroon; its lower section shows a stylized floral arrangement in pale yellow, pink, blue, and green emerging from an ornate vase in pale gold on a deep maroon ground. Both bands include accents of gold outlining and detailing along their borders.
