Chasuble, Mid-18th century. Cotton lining. 18th century, Poland. Liturgical vestment. Length 110 cm, width 70 cm back. Description: In the column on the back, a floral tendril running straight—flower bouquets growing one from another, with fantastic flowers resembling peonies, roses, daffodils, carnations, and bellflowers. The tendrils grow from a green mound with low grass. On the sides of the back, similar flowers appear on a distinct tendril growing from the mound; the flowers are more fantastical. On the front column, three flower bouquets grow from the previous ones. The columns are trimmed with wide gold braid and narrower braid at the edges. Plant ornament, church parament, sacred art., A textile panel with a pointed top displayed against a pale background, featuring an embroidered floral design in soft colors; the main background of the fabric is a creamy beige, with embroidery in shades of green, light blue, pale pink, tan, brown, and muted gold. The pattern is arranged in vertical bands showing stylized flowers and leafy vines, including rounded blossoms, rosette-like flowers, and curling botanical motifs, all bordered by narrow decorative strips in a metallic beige or gold tone. The leaves are mostly green with subtle variations, and the flowers show mixes of blue, pink, tan, and brown petals. The fabric has a slightly textured, quilted appearance with stitched borders and a thin outer edge trim in a gold-beige color. The overall composition is symmetrical and fills the panel from top to bottom, with the floral stems and leaves layered to create a repeating, ornamental effect.
