Lace fragment, lace strip finished with flat arched teeth on one side and straight on the other; in the divisions corresponding to the teeth an alternating flower calyx and a rhombus motif are placed, separated by parenthetical geometric forms. 18th century, France; fabric; width 17.5 cm, length 308 cm., A strip of delicate lace with a repeating decorative pattern rests against a plain background; the lace shows floral motifs and curved ornamental shapes connected by a net-like mesh, with scalloped edges along one side and some loose threads and fraying at irregular points; visible colors include shades of gold and beige in the lace set against a muted gray background.
