Lace fragment, needle-stitched lace, upper edge straight, lower edge serrated to match the motifs. The pattern of the motifs and the upper edge are emphasized by thickly sewn threads. 19th century, Europe. Height 4 cm, width 27 cm., A horizontal strip of delicate lace with a repeating floral-like scalloped pattern rests against a solid background. The lace is off-white or cream colored with a slightly darker beige tone in some areas, showing a textured, looped cord outlining each petal-like shape and finer openwork filling the interior. The background is a smooth grey, and the lace casts a soft shadow beneath it. The strip ends are slightly frayed, and the overall appearance shows fine threadwork and small interconnected loops forming a lace border.
