Obverse: rectangular floral and geometric ornament; rectangular decorative motif containing a rosette and stylised plants; date engraved on the edge: 1806, with the letter S against an anchor mark of the woodcarver or gingerbread maker. Reverse: image of the Archangel Michael in a long patterned robe decorated with a plant twig motif, holding scales in his right hand and a sword in his left; at the feet a geometric-plant ornament. Materials/technique: wood, bas-relief. Subject/iconography: Archangel Michael, angels, Christian religious motifs, folk-style decorations, floral ornaments, figurative scenes. Maker: woodcarver or gingerbread, Origin: Silesia Province of Silesia, 1806. Dimensions: height 11.6 cm, width 30.5 cm, depth 3 cm. Function: gingerbread mould; decorative folk art., A vertically oriented, narrow rectangular wooden object with worn and slightly rounded edges suspended against a plain light gray background, the wood showing dark brown tones with lighter brown highlights, visible surface scratches and small cracks, a beveled lower corner, and a few areas of dull lighter discoloration.
