Double-sided gingerbread mould. Obverse: four motifs — at the top a female figure in a long patterned dress with a low neckline; below, a basket of flowers; below that, a seated young naked man with long hair sitting among flowers and smoking a pipe, at his feet a skull with crossbones inscribed MEMENTO MORI; at the bottom a wreath woven from leaves and flowers. Reverse: five images of infants in patterned swaddling clothes. Materials/function: gingerbread mould, decorative art. Date/place: 19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Form: double-sided rectangular mould. Dimensions: height 36.5 cm, width 8.8 cm, depth 1.5 cm. Creator and exact origin unknown., A single narrow rectangular object with a rough, textured surface floats near the center of the image against a smooth, pale gray background; the object appears dark brown with subtle variations in tone and small speckles, and the background shows gradients of light gray and cool blue-gray hues.
