Double-sided gingerbread mould. Obverse: four motifs — at top a female figure in a long patterned dress with a low neckline; below, a basket of flowers; below that, a seated young naked man with long hair sitting among flowers and smoking a pipe, with a skull and crossbones at his feet inscribed MEMENTO MORI; at the very bottom a wreath woven from leaves and flowers. Reverse: five images of infants in patterned swaddling clothes. Materials/subject: gingerbread mould; gingerbread; decorative folk motifs; wreaths; female figures in rich dresses; Transience personification; floral decorations; allegorical representations; infants. Double-sided, rectangular mould. 19th century. Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Form dimensions: height 36.5 cm; width 8.8 cm; depth 1.5 cm. Creator: unknown., A tall narrow wooden panel with a vertical arrangement of carved motifs, showing a carved figure of a person in a dress near the top, a decorative basket of flowers below that, a seated figure with flowing hair and surrounding ornamentation further down, and a circular wreath-like carving near the bottom, all in shades of brown on a light gray background.
