Double-sided gingerbread mould. Obverse: four images—top: female figure in a long patterned dress with low neckline; below: a basket of flowers; below: seated young naked man with long hair sitting among flowers and smoking a pipe; at his feet a skull with crossbones and the inscription MEMENTO MORI; bottom: a wreath woven from leaves and flowers. Reverse: five images of infants in patterned swaddling clothes. Materials/subject: gingerbread mould; decorative, folk motifs, floral decorations, wreaths, female figures in rich dresses, allegorical representation of Transience personification, infants. Date: 19th century. Origin: Silesia Province of Silesia, 1742–1918. Dimensions: height 36.5 cm, width 8.8 cm, depth 1.5 cm. Creator: unknown., A tall rectangular wooden panel with a vertical arrangement of carved reliefs, showing a carved figure of a person in a dress near the top, a carved basket of flowers below that, a seated figure surrounded by ornamental foliage in the middle, and a circular wreath-like carved motif near the bottom, all in brown wood against a light gray background with a small hole near the top edge.
