Double-sided rectangular mould; on one side a figure of a soldier in a parade uniform from the beginning of the 19th century, wearing a high shako decorated with a tassel, epaulettes and decorative sleeves, an order pinned on the chest, a sabre with decorative tassel at the leg; at the bottom a geometric and plant decoration. The other side: baby in swaddling clothes richly decorated with geometric and plant ornament. On the edge the letter engraved: B. initial of the woodcarver or gingerbread maker. 19th century. Form. Height 35.3 cm, width 11.6 cm, depth 3.5 cm., A tall narrow rectangular block with rounded corners floating against a plain background, the block showing a worn, cracked surface with visible grain and irregular fissures; the block is predominantly dark brown with areas of lighter brown and hints of muted gray, and the background is a uniform light gray.
