Double-sided, rectangular mould: one side shows a soldier in a parade uniform from the beginning of the 19th century, wearing a high shako with a tassel, epaulettes and decorative sleeves, an order pinned on the chest, a sabre with decorative tassel at the leg; geometric and plant decoration at the bottom. The other side shows a baby in swaddling clothes richly decorated with geometric and plant ornament. On the edge, the letter engraved B initial of the woodcarver or gingerbread maker. 19th century, Silesia Province 1742–1918. Form; height 35.3 cm, width 11.6 cm, depth 3.5 cm., A rectangular wooden block rests on a smooth grey surface, showing a carved shallow relief of a human figure surrounded by decorative elements; the block is brown with variations in tone and worn edges, and the background and surface are shades of light grey.
