One side: man in a long wig and tricorn hat, dressed in costume probably dating from turn of 17th–18th centuries—justaucorps with decorative cuffs, culottes and stockings, high-heeled shoes; at his feet decorative flower and geometric motifs and the date 1827. Other side: baby in swaddling clothes richly decorated with geometric and plant ornament. Inscription on the edge: FW FIEBIGER. a. BAUTZEN. 17 signature of the manufacturer and beginning of the date. Height 64 cm; width 22.5 cm; depth 4.3 cm., A carved wooden panel depicting a full-length figure of a person in period dress, shown standing and facing forward, with a tricorn-style hat, long curled hair, and a coat with decorative buttons and patterned cuffs; the figure holds an object at the waist and wears a skirt-like garment with ornamental fringe and detailed boots, all carved in low relief with textured motifs around the hem and on either side of the legs; the panel shows the natural brown tones of aged wood with variations in hue, and the background behind the panel is a smooth light gray.
