Background woven in warp satin 7/1; pattern executed in gros de Tours. Motif height 47 cm; selvedge width 0.8 cm threads: white, yellow, green. Overall fragment height reported 47 cm. Ca. mid-18th century, possibly France. Reported fabric dimensions: height 101 cm, width 20 cm., A long rectangular textile sample with a floral damask pattern sits against a dark background; the fabric is predominantly golden yellow with areas of slightly darker yellow forming large stylized flower and leaf motifs and textured chevron-like fields, and the edges show frayed threads on one side and a finished narrow hem on the opposite side.
