Fabric fragment, fragments of silk fabric, patterned two-color damask in olive and white. Weave construction: two-color warps olive and white; background a derivative of plain weave olive with sub-ornament promoted by olive warp threads and sparse weft interlacing a type of grodetur. Pattern: derivative of plain weave white wefts and white nooses. Decoration: symmetrical, mirror-like arrangement with axis of symmetry at center of panel; branches of stylized flowers dominated by large blooming peonies; sub-ornament features floral and lace motifs. Colors: olive background, white motifs. Wefts: white and olive. Warps: white and olive; leading—olive. Measurements reported: height 40 cm; also recorded height 65 cm, width 24 cm; edge width 0.4. Date: 1st half of the 18th century. Probable origin: France., A rectangular piece of woven fabric with a floral damask pattern lying on a dark background, showing a larger main panel and a narrower attached strip on the left; the fabric displays a metallic sheen with gold and beige tones, with the floral motifs and background alternating between muted beige and brighter gold; frayed edges and a few loose threads are visible along the borders, and there is a small folded corner on the right side with a hint of white and pale pink at the fold.
