Women's slippers, made by Wincenty Witoszynski Warsaw; shoemaker's workshop; ca. 1840–ca. 1850. Shallow, flat women's slippers made of white silk. Symmetrical soles of thin leather with straight-cut toes. Lining of the front of white canvas, the back of thin white leather. Inside, an octagonal company label is glued in: Wincenty Witoszynski / in Warsaw / at Senatorska Street next to the Main Town Hall No. 463. The upper part is machine-sewn. 1840–1850. Place of origin: Warsaw. Category: footwear, clothing. Dimensions: height 5.3 cm, width 5.3 cm, length 23.2 cm., A pair of worn fabric shoes sits side by side on a plain surface, made of off-white cloth with visible creases and frayed edges, and showing areas of beige discoloration and light brown staining; the shoes have low, flat brown soles and slightly sagging openings, and the overall scene features a neutral light gray background and surface.
