Design consists of twigs with fanciful flowers of various species placed in cup-shaped forms; pattern size larger than preserved fragment. Motifs in the bizarre type of fabrics. Selvedge width: 0.4 cm red and white threads. Early 18th century, Italy. Height 36 cm, width 22 cm., A worn textile fragment with a dark background showing a floral damask pattern on a deep reddish-brown ground, featuring a group of pale beige ornamental leaves and flowers woven throughout and a few green leaves and floral accents; the fabric edges are frayed and irregular with some missing sections, and loose threads extend from the sides.
