Colors: green, sand, blue, gray, yellow. 4–5 warps per 1 cm, 10 wefts per 1 cm, wool, silk, wool warp, tapestry technique, numerous visible chains — also used in connecting shades of leaves small color fields and stitched technical slits. 16th century, Flanders, fabrics, height 338 cm, width 462 cm, A large woven tapestry with an ornate border surrounding a central scene, rendered in muted tones of gold, blue, green, brown, and beige; the central area shows a group of robed figures and a few animals set against dense foliage and trees, with draped fabric suggesting a canopy on one side and decorative floral and leafy patterns underfoot; the border contains repeated decorative panels with stylized floral motifs and human figures, and small framed oval scenes at the top and bottom centers; overall the colors appear faded with dominant gold and blue highlights, and the textile shows variations in texture and worn areas.
