Kilim, 1st half of the 19th century. Wool fabric, height 123 cm, width 214 cm. Poland / Vilnius region, Lithuania. Biedermeier style. Interior decorative fabric court kilim. Entire main field filled with a motif of a basket with flowers and leaves, surrounded by a wide three-band border: widest band with a garland of leaves and flowers, two narrower bands with a diagonal pattern. Plant ornaments, flowers; colors: brown background with light and dark red, yellow, beige, and green ornamentation., A rectangular woven textile with a central dark field featuring a symmetrical floral arrangement in a basket, surrounded by multiple decorative borders; visible colors include dark brown, cream, pale yellow, green, pink, mauve, and beige, with touches of light blue and reddish tones. The central motif shows a basket filled with stylized flowers and foliage in cream, pink, mauve, green, and beige against the dark background. Around the central panel is a striped frame of pale yellow and cream, then a wider border with leafy sprays and garlands in cream, green, and pink on a dark background, and an outermost pale yellow and cream striped edging; the pattern repeats and mirrors across the textile, and the overall piece appears flat and evenly lit.
