Fragment of fabric, silks, brocade, floral and plant patterns, double-warp brocade. On a white and silver background, blue motifs with a cherry outline. On a white and cherry background, densely placed motifs of blue flower bushes with a cherry outline — sunflower-like flowers on leafy bent stems, alternating in rows shifted by half the motif width, and S-shaped flower branches with a tulip and a carnation. Fragmentary elements suggest additional smaller motifs between the two main ones. Construction: background in plain warp weave - basic linen thread, bold cherry-red silk warp; additional pink silk warp binds in a twill weave the patterning threads: silk blue pattern and white background covering, plus bundles of two silver lamellas running on the surface across the fabric width. Pattern repeat: length 45 cm. Weaving edge: 1.3 cm wide in green with yellow, pink and white stripes. Date: 16th/17th century, Italy. Dimensions: height 77 cm, width 21.5 cm., A long, narrow textile scrap with a worn, frayed top and angled bottom edge, showing a primarily deep red field with a floral vine pattern in muted blue and beige, and a narrow vertical border along one side in olive green with thin lighter stripes; the fabric surface appears textured and aged with areas of faded color and threadbare patches against a pale gray background.
