Complex weave structure with a large, elaborate repeat showing a large floral arrangement surrounding a chinoiserie genre scene: two figures in caftans and pointed hats — one standing under an umbrella, the other kneeling with arms crossed — set among lush leaves with fanciful, slightly twisted forms, large fully bloomed flowers, and bursting ripe fruit revealing seed-filled interiors. Part of the cope's skirt under the hood has been cut out; that area is covered by a hood of a different fabric of similar color. Pattern motifs with a symmetrical composition displayed against a taffeta-weave background.
