Fabric fragment, fragments of silk patterned fabric with plant motifs, indigo and brazilwood dyes. Semi-silk with a red satin-weave background and brocaded decoration using two types of braided metal thread with yellow and white cores. Vertically arranged pattern of waving, fanciful flowered and leafy branches with small leaves and large oval stylized flower heads alternating horizontally; called pomponblüten pompon flowers. Similar fabrics dated to the second quarter of the 17th century. Floated and brocaded with double metal thread with a yellow silk core; pattern report width c. 10.5 cm. Weaving edge c. 0.3–0.4 cm wide, orange cotton warp and cherry cotton weft in plain weave. Construction: satin warp weave; thicker red cotton wefts and red silk warp give stiffness.
