Robe à la française robe à paniers à coudes, two-piece, ca. 1764. Pink grosgrain with swirling silver-lamellar brocaded pattern, silver lace ribbons and bouquets of flowers; lace ornaments and ribbon. Outer dress manteau open at the front with a pleated train at the back. Bodice stiffened with canvas and boning 22, laced at front and back under the pleats. Elbow-length sleeves cut in a curved pattern with double flounces trimmed in silver lace. Dress made of eight panels; quadruple pleats at the back preserve full fabric width; twenty-two long bonings extend beyond the bodice line. Silver lace appliqué on edges echoes the wavy brocaded pattern. Apron of same fabric, hemmed with a wide ruffle and silver lace appliqués repeating the wavy motif. Worn on an oval cornea. Fabric report: sample height 37 cm x width 27 cm; fabric width 55.5 cm. Garment length 167 cm; width at bottom of manteau 430 cm., Poland use; France fabric., A historical-style dress displayed on a stand with a fitted bodice and wide, voluminous skirt, made of pale pink fabric patterned with floral motifs and vertical stripe textures, trimmed with wavy silver metallic lace running in sinuous lines down the skirt and edges, and with matching silver lace ruffles at the elbow-length sleeves; the bodice center has a slightly different textured panel in a muted gold tone, and the skirt reveals an inner layer of silver net-like fabric; the visible colors include pale pink, silver, gold, green, and touches of muted red and brown.
