Zupan, Made of pink-carnassine silk with black stripes. Long, fitted at the top, flared at the bottom, with slightly overlapping skirts. Partially concealed fastening to the neck with small haberdashery buttons four visible at the collar. High, standing collar, adjustable at the back. Long, set-in sleeves with turn-up cuffs fastened with hooks. Side slit pockets. The back is cut like a kontusz, with a central column of fabric, widened from the waist on the sides by flared pleats, and laced at the top. The garment is lined with fustian up to the waist. 1780s, Poland. Garment length 120 cm, bottom circumference 282 cm., A long, striped coat displayed on a black mannequin form against a gray background, with a high stand-up collar and long sleeves; the coat features vertical narrow dark stripes on a pale pinkish-beige fabric, with the stripes continuing across the sleeves and cuffs and a visible front overlap.
