The back is made of brown canvas at the top and fabric at the bottom as on the front. 1750s, Silesia, garment, length 76 cm, A sleeveless garment laid flat showing the back with a central panel of coarse brown fabric flanked by inner panels of light beige and outer panels of patterned fabric; the patterned fabric is mauve with vertical lighter stripes and floral motifs in white and green, and there are sections of off-white lining visible at the turned-out edges; overall colors visible include brown, mauve, off-white, white, green, and a hint of darker brown in the stitching.
