Embroidery background with small floral motifs; along the fastening are flower sprigs and grass. Chains around the pockets; above the pockets are flowers, a fragment of a stork's nest, and a seagull. Sea vegetation and shells adorn the pocket trim. Beneath the pockets is a fragment of a seascape with two three-masted ships and a small ship in the background. Flat embroidery using satin, laid, and knotted stitches; untwisted and twisted silk yarn. Predominant colors: green, gray, and salmon. 1780s, Silesia and France, garment, length 70 cm., A sleeveless, waist-length garment displayed on a black mannequin, made from a light-colored fabric with delicate floral embroidery and decorative stitching; the front has a row of covered buttons down the center and a turned collar with embroidered floral motifs; the lower front features embroidered pocket flaps and a scene with sailing ships and foliage; the overall color palette includes shades of cream, beige, brown, green, and subtle touches of pink and gold.
