Fragment of a brocade with a large repeat, probably a net composition, with stylized plant motifs pomegranate. Brocaded with gold thread in an S braid on a yellow silk core fringed, accented with drawn gold thread. Colors: cherry red background, yellow and gold ornament. Cherry warp; yellow, gold, and natural-colored silk wefts raw silk weft. Green selvedge. Pattern drawing difficult to read due to worn brocades and background parts. Selection width: 0.4–0.5 cm. 16th century, Spain, fabrics. Height 71.5 cm, width 27.5 cm. Fragment of silk fabric; patterned brocade; fabrics with preserved selvedge; fabrics with drawn thread., A long, narrow textile fragment with a worn, uneven edge and a few small holes, showing a woven pattern of swirling motifs; the fabric appears primarily reddish-brown with areas of golden metallic thread and some beige and pale tan from the worn fibers, set against a neutral gray background.
