Dress of white muslin with a high waist and a long train, embroidered. Deep-cut square neckline, cinched at the front with a drawstring. Three-quarter set-in sleeves, gathered at the top and flared at the bottom. Skirt sewn to the bodice, narrow at the front and fuller at the back with a long train. Front decorated with embroidery: between two rows of stylized flower baskets are small scatterings of polka dots. Sleeves feature embroidered inserts with smaller geometric patterns. Hem and train decorated with stylized flower baskets. Early 19th century, Silesia. Women's clothing; length 131 cm front, length 230 cm back, circumference 408 cm hem., A long white dress displayed on a stand against a neutral gray background, made of sheer lightweight fabric with a flowing train pooling on the ground; the gown has a square neckline and a fitted bodice, elbow-length puffed sleeves with decorative trim, and the front panel features a pattern of raised embroidered motifs and small raised dots running vertically, while the hem and train edge show embroidered scalloped detailing in matching white.
