Color: blue background, brocaded with metal thread. Report: 14.5 x 6.5. LISERE BASE, BOARDED AND BOOKLETED Construction: Weft grosgrain background with a blue silk warp and a silk weft with a bundle of blue and white threads. Liseré technique with the basic weft. A prominent drawn gold plate – lamella – is attached to every fourth weft thread. Brooching thread with a loose braid of gold plate on a yellow silk base. Design: Report - length 13 cm, width 6.5 cm. Blue background with finely wavy lines shimmering in shades of blue and white running along the length of the fabric. Against this background, small floral projections single calyxes on short leafy stems in two similar forms, arranged in rows, shifted by half a repeat and facing right or left. 1st half of the 17th century, Italy; fabrics, height 78.5 cm, width 23.5 cm., A woven textile with a blue background featuring a repeating floral motif in a golden color, with the blue area showing lighter blue and gray wavy stitched lines and small irregular light flecks throughout.
