A hood from a church cope. The cope hood is made of pale green velvet. In the center, two embroidered palmettes run parallel to each other, surrounded by plant-braided motifs, with a finer ornament embroidered with a single thread closer to the edges. The hood is trimmed with silver braid: wider at the top, narrow around the remaining edges. The edges are fringed. 18th century, Poland. Liturgical vestment. Height 53 cm, width 52 cm., A rectangular textile with rounded bottom corners shown flat against a pale background, featuring a central area of green fabric with an intricate raised pattern in a light beige or cream color, surrounded by a fringe of long beige threads along three edges; the patterned area displays symmetrical swirling vegetal and geometric motifs in the cream thread against the green ground, with textured, slightly shiny fabric and visible stitching lines, and the top edge has a narrow band of lighter fabric in a pale beige or off-white tone.
