Fabric density in 1 sq. cm: 31 white warps, 31 blue wefts. 17th century, Iran. Fabric height 76 cm, width 17.6 cm min. 4.3 cm., A long triangular strip of fabric laid against a dark background shows a repeated small floral or leaf pattern in muted blue and pale beige on a light bluish-gray ground, with a fringe of metallic gold threads along one long edge and a narrower metallic trim along the opposite long edge; the fabric edges are slightly frayed and the gold fringe appears tangled in places, and the overall colors visible are blue, beige, gray, gold, and dark black from the background.
