Pall, embroidery, church paraments, plant ornaments, sacred art, churches and chapels furnishings. Pall of dark red damask with a floral pattern, embroidered with silver and gold metal braid threads and silk yarn. In the center is a standing figure of Mary and Child with a crescent moon under her feet, surrounded by a radiant halo. Predominant colors: red, gold, silver, green, brown, and blue. The edges are trimmed with narrow gold bobbin lace. White linen lining. Early 18th century, Poland, liturgical parament. Height 13 cm, width 12 cm., A rectangular embroidered textile with a deep pink background and a gold decorative border surrounds a central figure. The central figure is made with gold and brown thread and has lighter skin tone details on the face and hands; the figure appears to be holding a smaller figure similarly rendered with gold and pale skin tones. Radiating gold rays extend outward from behind the figures against the pink background. There is a crescent-shaped base beneath the figures in muted gray and blue tones, and small areas of green and red appear within the embroidery. The overall colors visible are deep pink, gold, brown, pale skin tones, gray, blue, green, and red.
