Chalice cover made of cream satin, embroidered with colorful silk yarn, gold and silver metal thread, and sequins. In the center, in a radiant oval, Mary wearing a crown, holding the Child and a scepter, standing on a globe. In the corners are winged angel heads. Pall trimmed with narrow braid and green shreds. Flat embroidery on small thread underlays, executed with silk yarn and metal-braided threads on a silk base, decorated with silver-gold paillettes. Colorful embroidery using split and satin stitches, and gold embroidery using a laid stitch. Angels' hair is made of metal threads arranged in loops and held together with silk yarn. 18th century, Poland. Liturgical vestment, fabrics. Height 20 cm, width 19.5 cm., A square textile panel with a fringed border in shades of green surrounding an inner embroidered border in gold and muted pink, the central field in a beige or cream fabric shows an oval medallion with a figure draped in blue and pink garments holding a smaller figure, both rendered in stitched threads with metallic gold accents and darker brown outlining; radiating from the oval are a few stylized rays in gold, pink, and blue, and the four corners each feature a winged cherub-like face with wings in blue, pink, gold, and brown tones, all set against the beige background with subtle wear and variations in the fabric color.
