Velum, Velum or church cloth of white linen, embroidered with silk and gold thread. In the centre is a Lamb with a labarum and a chalice, into which blood spurts from its breast. Around the edges is an elaborate plant twig with motifs of grapes and flowers. In the central field, floral motifs are featured in the corners. Embroidery with pierced silk and metal thread, with cord and satin stitches. Some metal thread embroidery elements are made on a colored silk backing. The metal thread is a silver plate woven onto a silk or linen base. Revindication, 16th century, Silesia. Liturgical vestment. Height 63 cm, width 70 cm., A square cloth with a pale off-white background decorated with an embroidered border of winding floral and vine motifs in shades of muted pink and dusty rose, with additional embroidery in beige, gold, and dark gray. The center area is mostly plain with visible weave texture and a small embroidered animal figure in dark gray near the middle, carrying a tiny object. Groupings of ornate floral clusters in gold and dark gray appear near the corners of the central area. The border features a dense arrangement of stylized flowers, leaves, and curling tendrils in pink and dark gray, and there are faint areas of wear and small repairs evident in the fabric. The overall palette includes off-white, pink, gold, beige, and dark gray.
