Colors: beige, pink, sky blue, ochre, and olive. Post–mid-18th century. Possibly Beauvais or Aubusson. Fabric. Height 57 cm, width 68 cm., A rectangular textile piece with a white fabric border lies flat against a pale background; the central area shows a worn, loosely woven surface with a tangled mass of threads and yarns creating a shaggy, textured appearance. The visible colors include beige and tan in the base fabric, with scattered greens, pinks, reds, blues, and off-white threads throughout the tangled areas. The white border has folds and stitched corners, and there are a few metal rings attached near the top edge. Several loose tassel-like off-white threads hang from the sides and bottom, and the overall surface appears frayed and uneven with a mix of short and long thread ends.
