Fabric fragment, fragments of silk fabrics, patterned brocaded silk, 2nd half of the 18th century, England, fabrics with preserved selvedge, height 31 cm, width 27.5 cm. Weave structure: background - plain weave with a grosgrain liseré structure, sub-weave, brocaded. Pattern: floral motifs developing around a winding silver ribbon; fanciful flowers resembling roses and polka dots; winding lace-ribbon motif with delicate twigs entwining it. Background light-colored with liseré effect, brocaded with colorful threads and silver lamella and tightly braided silver thread. Overlay for the meandering pattern formed by tiny leafy branches and ribbons crisscrossing, ribbons brocaded with silver thread waving in the opposite direction. Brocade threads: light and dark blue, light and dark pink, yellow, white, light and dark green, two types of metallic threads, and a sorbec thread with a pink core. Colors: white background; pattern in celadon green, pink, pale blue, lemon, yellow, brown, burgundy, grass green, white, heather, silver. Selvage width: 0.6 cm., A rectangular piece of fabric with a light beige background patterned with a flowing serpentine band in a silvery gray textured weave, decorated with embroidered botanical motifs: a group of blue rounded flowers with yellow centers on green stems, several clusters of small deep red blossoms with green buds and leaves, and multiple stylized gray leaves with subtle brown accents. The embroidery thread includes shades of green, blue, yellow, deep red, gray, brown, and a silvery metallic. The fabric edges show some loose threads and fraying, and the overall surface has visible weave texture and slight irregularities.
