Materials: silk; weave: grosgrain; colors: white and cream background with white warp stripes; brocade in celadon-green, light grass green, pale yellow, sky blue, blue, white, brick-red/rust, raspberry-whitened, pale pink. Date/place: 2nd half of the 18th century, France., A worn rectangular fabric fragment with a beige background mounted on a dark surface, showing frayed edges and small areas of damage; a few vertical and irregular green shapes resembling plant forms run across the lower half and rise toward the middle, interspersed with patches of blue and purple fibers and thin red threads; the beige weave shows darker worn spots and small holes, and the top edge has a narrow stitched border in light tones; overall colors visible include beige, green, blue, purple, red, and touches of dark gray.
