Most of the fabric preserved, missing the right border. In the center, against a forest landscape, a shepherd plays bagpipes while a shepherdess stands with a distaff; sheep graze around them. Border with motifs of flowers, birds, and vases. Colors: blue, sand, brown, green, beige. 17th–18th century, Flanders. Materials: fabrics. Height 281 cm, width 200 cm., A woven textile depicting a pastoral scene framed by an ornate border, with dominant colors of blue, green, beige, brown, and touches of gold; within the scene a woman in a long beige dress and apron stands holding a staff while a seated man in a beige and brown outfit with decorative elements holds a stringed instrument, a few sheep graze nearby on grassy ground, and a background of dense trees with leafy canopies and a distant cluster of small buildings; the border shows floral and foliate motifs in blue, beige, brown, and gold along with stylized decorative shapes, and there are additional plants and a tree stump in the foreground.
