The border varies in color with plant patterns imitating the damask technique. Colors: pink, red, light brown, and olive. Early 19th century, France. Height 681 cm, width 385 cm., A decorative ceiling or wall surface with a pale beige background featuring ornate painted borders and floral motifs in shades of brown, tan, cream, and muted gold, with a few soft pink and faded green accents; several sweeping brown and dark brown curved bands frame the scene, and a group of stylized leaves and curling vine-like patterns in light tan and gold travel along the borders; near the center there is a faint, delicate floral arrangement rendered in very light tones, and at the bottom a cluster of more distinct flowers and leaves shows muted pink, yellow, and green hues.
