Chasuble pillar, embroidery, ; subject: Christ Crucified; function: liturgical vestment church paraments; iconography includes flowers, leaves, plant ornaments; sacred art; 16th/17th century, Poland. The chasuble is shaped in the form of a cross with arms slightly tilted upwards, made of silk rep fabric. The fabric features an applied cross with Christ and eight rosettes; the ends of the cross's arms are half-rosettes. Embroidery on linen canvas applied with metal thread silver and gold plate woven onto a silk base, metal threads couched with silk yarn; silk yarn embroidery with flat and split stitches. Materials: fabrics; dimensions: length 106 cm, width 55 cm., A vertically oriented cross-shaped fabric piece lies flat against a pale background; the fabric is a beige or light tan color with a visible woven texture and narrow reddish edges, and a small rectangular tag is attached near the lower end.
