Kilim, decorative flatwoven textile, 19th/20th century, Kosów; manor and house furnishing; decorative fabric; height 304 cm, width 202 cm., A rectangular woven textile with a central diamond-shaped medallion surrounded by ornate geometric and floral motifs in a palette of deep navy, olive green, muted pink, mustard, burgundy, beige, and pale blue-gray. The central area features layered chevron bands in beige and mustard framing a dark navy inner diamond with symmetrical stylized leaf shapes in burgundy and navy. Around the medallion are scrolling arabesque forms and stepped geometric blocks in olive, mustard, burgundy, navy, and blue-gray. The border consists of a muted pink field with repeating roundels containing stylized floral forms in shades of pink and burgundy, linked by olive green foliage and framed by narrow bands of olive and mustard. The overall appearance is richly patterned with pixelated, tapestry-like stitching and contrasting color edges.
