Embroidered thin white cotton fabric with fine floral pattern in yellow and gold; edged on one side with a very narrow strip of plant twig motif in yellow and gold. Flowers, leaves, plant ornaments; sacred art. 1st half of the 18th century, Poland. Height 327 cm, width 280 cm., A flat rectangular textile arranged in a cross-like shape on a dark background, the fabric appears off-white with a subtle woven texture and small scattered lighter spots; the cloth shows soft wrinkles and a few faint irregular marks, and there is a small rectangular lighter patch near the center; the background is a deep dark gray.
