Tapestry. Tapestry embroidered in wool and silk on linen canvas. In the upper part, in a decorative cartouche, is the bust of a woman with two red flowers pinned in her hair. Around it are dense scrolls of large leaves, flowers, and fruit. Unedged. Vivid colors: brown background, red, pink, green, sapphire blue, yellow, olive, and ochre ornament. The plant motifs of the nine fabrics comprising this set do not differ from each other. Stylized leaves, flowers, and fruit fill the entire surface of the panel. The composition unfolds on both sides of the axis, defining a symmetrical division of the decoration, similar to the large-pattern silk upholstery fabrics fashionable in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Minor differences include the inclusion of small animal silhouettes on some panels, which enrich the decoration. All fabrics are decorated with the same fruit: plump bunches of black and white grapes, yellow apples, and dark red cherries. The top area shows a light-skinned bust with light-colored hair surrounded by curling scrolls and acanthus-like shapes in beige and yellow, flanked by large blue and red leaf forms. Below and along the length are repeating clusters of ornate leaves, flowers, and fruit-like round forms rendered in yellow, gold, deep blue, royal blue, red, olive green, brown, cream, and pink, with some motifs shaded to appear raised. Several sunflower-like heads with dark centers appear among multilobed leaves, and many swirling scrolls and palmet
