Women's handbag. Handbag in the shape of a rectangle, slightly narrowed at the top. Embroidered with colorful silks on canvas using the petit point stitch. Embroidery with a court scene in historical costume in a park landscape covers both sides. The scenes are framed by curtains and floral garlands on all four sides, supported by figures at the bottom, two angels at the top, a woman. Black lacquered brass frame with applied gilded or glazed decoration in the form of small volutes placed in the corners of the frame and at the base of the fan-shaped lock placed in the center of the frame. Gold-colored metal chain handle. Light beige grosgrain lining with a pocket. Genre scenes in a landscape, park scenes, court scenes, garlands ornament. Attributed to Austria, dated 1915–1930. Dimensions: height 15 cm, width 17.5 cm., A decorative handbag with a metal frame and a chain strap is shown against a white background; the frame is gold-toned with an ornate clasp topped by a black fan-shaped accent, and the chain is a gold color. The body of the bag features a woven tapestry in muted tones including beige, brown, green, pink, blue, and black, depicting a complex scene with several human figures in classical dress surrounded by floral and foliate motifs. The lower portion of the bag shows floral garlands and stylized ornamental shapes in colors such as cream, pink, and dark green, while the sides and edges are bordered with darker tones. The overall palette is dominated by earthy and pastel hues with metallic gold highlights on the frame and chain.
