Banner of the Sokól Gymnastic Society, Double-sided banner, fabrics, 1906. Front: blue with red grosgrain, three-field coat of arms under a crown—top right: White Eagle; left: Pogon; below: Angel with sword and shield coat of arms of Kiev Voivodeship. Embroidered inscription: 1906/ PTG Sokól w Kyjowie. Reverse: white/beige background with a silhouette of a falcon with spread wings against a flowing silver ribbon; ribbon bears embroidered red-thread inscription W ZDROWEM at the top and IELE SILNY DUCH at the bottom. Trimmed on three sides with gold bullion fringe. One vertical side has magenta ribbons threaded through metal rings for tying the flagpole 12 pcs.. Height 157.5 cm, width 157.5 cm. Origin: Kiev Kyiv, 1906., A large rectangular fabric with a worn beige background shows creases and discoloration, with a fringe along one long edge and stitched red loops along the opposite edge; near the center there is a stylized bird with outstretched wings in gray and darker gray tones, and a flowing ribbon-like shape in gray that weaves around the bird, with small areas of red on the ribbon and a few subtle dark marks on the fabric.
