Figural tapestry, early 18th century, Brussels. Tapestry armchair upholstery depicting the 12 months, illustrated with works and games characteristic of the subsequent months. In front of the barn door stand two peasants, one holding a pig by the legs; in the open doorway stands a third figure. In the background, on the left, a road and another figure. Border imitates a picture frame with acanthus leaf motifs. Floral ornaments; genre and rural scenes against a landscape background; interior furnishings, decorative fabrics, weaving. Colors: brown, red, green, blue. Height 79 cm, width 62 cm., A rectangular piece of fabric laid flat against a light background, showing a beige main surface with subtle weaving texture and a slightly darker beige strip stitched along the top edge; the fabric has irregular edges with a thin darker border, a few gentle creases and folds across the surface, and small areas of slightly lighter and darker beige tones creating faint variations.
