In the background an angel; below, a gun carriage covered with a pall and the White Eagle. Trim of dark cherry plush. An angel, also draped in a pall, points to the inscription Once. Behind the uhlan are a scythe and lance with a pennant leaning against the column. In front of the uhlan are banners on the ground, next to them a White Eagle. In the lower right corner are the letters and the date HL1831. 1831, Poland; fabrics; height 70 cm, width 70 cm., A textile panel with a wide dark red velvet border surrounding a woven scene; the woven area shows a seated figure in a blue and yellow uniform-like outfit with a contemplative posture, a fallen helmet and a shield with a red and white pattern lying on the ground, a large dark bird or winged form partially covering a pale stone-like structure, a pale robed figure with a dark cloak floating above, stylized green plants at the sides, and layered ground areas in shades of green, brown, and pink; colors visible include dark red, blue, yellow, green, brown, pink, pale beige, black, white, and shades of gray.
