Below the branch, on the edge, a row of small circles, the edge corresponding to the circles with small semicircular serrations. 18th century, France; lace; width 6.5 cm, length 33 cm., A horizontal strip of delicate lace in off-white and cream tones lies against a smooth gray background; the lace features a mesh net base with a repeating floral and leaf pattern made from raised embroidery, including a scalloped top edge with small circular motifs, a sinuous vine with teardrop and heart-shaped leaves, and a field of small clustered rosettes, with visible texture variations where threads loop and knot and some slight irregularities along the lower edge.
