Two fragments of a dalmatic, front and back, of silk fabric interwoven with silver thread. Embroidery depicts a floral tendril with tulips, bellflowers, pansies, carnations, daffodils, irises, and roses with species-appropriate leaves, plus golden fantastic flowers with bent stems. Predominant colors: yellow several shades, blue, pink, red, green, and gold. Materials and techniques: metal thread embroidery gilded silver plate woven on a silk base and multicolored silk; gold embroidery with a laid flat stitch, metal threads held with silk yarn; silk embroidery with satin and split stitches. Fabric: silver lamé grosgrain interwoven with silver thread. Gauge width: 50.5 cm; yellow-red selvedge; density 17–18 weft threads per cm2, 14–15 warp threads per cm2. Dating: 18th century embroidery, 16th century fabric. Places of origin: Poland embroidery, Italy fabric. Function: liturgical vestment. Dimensions: length 104.5 cm, width 87 cm., A sleeveless garment shaped like a trapezoid with a shallow scooped neckline, displayed flat against a pale background, featuring an all-over floral embroidery on a light beige fabric; the embroidery includes a group of flowers and leafy stems in colors such as blue, green, pink, yellow, red, and brown, with ornate scrolling motifs in a golden-brown tone and several stylized blossoms in shades of blue and pink, scattered leaves in green, and small floral accents in yellow and pale blue.
