Lace fragment, needle-stitched lace, highly elongated openwork ovals. Above the edge ornament, against a mesh background, a winding line interrupted by openwork circles. In the bends of the line, a rather large three-leafed branch projection. 18th century, possibly France. Lace, width 3.5 cm, length 42.5 cm. Creator, provenance noted as repossession., A narrow strip of delicate lace in off-white and cream tones stretches horizontally across a muted gray background, featuring a fine netted ground with a scalloped lower edge and a straighter upper edge, decorative floral motifs and small leaf-like shapes worked into the fabric, a sinuous openwork border with looping patterns along the bottom, a few small holes and frayed areas, and subtle variations in the off-white and beige threads against the gray backdrop.
